A canal of Assen has been dredged to create a new shipping route for recreation boats. During excavation a phosphorus grenade has been discovered. Research has shown that the phosphorus probably was a Canadian hand grenade from the Second World War. Bodac came to Assen to investigate the whole canal and found a 12 kg Stankovitich bomb, K98 barrel and several small calibre ammunition.
